license plate holder?

ok, I got a new engine lid and on my last engine lid it had the holes already in it, but on this one it doesn't the holes for the bolts. so what should I do? how can I mount the license plate without drilling holes into the engine lid? or should I just drill holes? thanks

Well sounds like if you want it on the engine lid you have no choice but to drill the holes. Are you putting the license plate hood & light back on too? has it got the holes for those?

In Mexico, the new Bugs don't have the holes either, so the dealer sells a bracket that clamps between the licence light and the decklid. Try btlmex.com to order one of these. It would also be very simple to make one yourself out of 16 ga. aluminum.
