TRANNY ?

hey any of u fellas who have done this.i need to put a 61-66 swing axle into my 60 non synchromesh type 1.what about the nose cone and shift couplers.is it all bolt in ?any special parts?im building a 1776 as we speak ,but im trying to get ready for tranny

Check arround for a nose cone. Someone (CB Perf?) used to sell a new nose cone that would allow the use of the newer tranny in a non-synchro chassis. Sorry I couldn't remember exactly who it was.

The rest should be bolt-in.

_most_ (but not all) 1960 models will match right up but if not , find an old swing axle bus tranny core and take the nose cone off it , install on your '61~'67 donor tranny and it bolts right up , this is an old dealer trick to put a sync box into oval window bugs - try it - you'll like it ! .
DON'T throw that old tranny out ! it's worth something even if it pops out of first .
('60 models have a one year only mount)
