Who besides Jet-Hot has a quality product. Any idea as to the cost of doing a header with dual QP?

Are you happy with it? How long have you had it? How many miles? Can you give contact info, phone, location. Thanks
It's just that I had it done by a cheap place and it didn't last. Jet-Hot costs way too much.

Glenn, You get what you pay for! Augie has Jet Hot on his rail exhaust for a couple of years now, still looks great.

I have it on the headers on my 74. It just cost a small fortune. I had a ceramic coating applied by Rainbow Coatings years ago and it only lasted 6 months before it started to rust. I'm just looking for cheaper alternatives, but i want it to be quality.

"Cheap" and "Quality" in one sentence? You won't get both at the same time unless you have a connection with somebody of influence. The old saying "you get what you pay for" applies here.

It sometimes seems the saying should be "Hopefully you get what you pay for". I was just looking for a more reasonable alternative to Jet-Hot. It cost me over $400 to get my 1-3/4" merged header, stinger and dual QP done. That's about double the cost of the entire system. Personally i'd rather just pay $600 for a complete T-304 stainless and never have to deal with it again. (last year I had to replace the muffler on my Passat due to a defect. After 7 years, the stainless clamps were able to be undone and reused.)

I think I got under charged. HPC only charged me 45 for a phat boy muffler.

The $200 was for a 1 3/4 merged header, stinger, and a 3 inch magnaflow muffler.

The FAA no longer allows "ceramic' coated metal parts on Aircraft...due to the fact that ceramic coating reduces the Fatigue resistance of the coated metals by 50%,
Now your coated exhaust parts won't rust... they will simply crack off... don't mention that in the adverts do they?

I haven't heard about the fatigue life reduction, hmmmmmm, guess I'll look into it. I'll pick up the phone and call somebody here in engineering. I'm sure somebody in our engineering group here at Boeing will know.
