Inlet ports

Hi Guys. So . I have a pair of AMC heads that have been ported too much. They are 39mm I.d. has anyone had this issue and got a 40mm o.d aluminum tube,then, made the tube slot into the port and fit it snug up to the guide. Then weld the tube just below the manifold edge. The inner I.d would be 34mm. After that the tube can be blended/ tapered .
