Do you like to go fast? Well get out of that stocker and build a hipo motor for your VW. Come here to talk with others who like to drive fast.

Type 1 vs. Type 4

Steve,

What's this I see on the CLF about a 2276cc?
Tired of waiting for the T4, or another project?

I wish I had my Show winning V8 smok'n Baja still. That car lit those 31X10 BF's like overinflated 165's on The Berg's Black Beauty!

I mostly snapped outer CV's cuz I jacked them beyond proper angle. But if I drove like a human it flew Off Road and caught sweet air time with smooth results. I even chased and passed two kids on MX'ers while grabbing 3rd in a huge tobacco field in my back yard.

In the past I wish I went to Boise, but for the wrong reasons. Now, I wish I had my Baja and came to your kneck of the woods for some trail blazin'. We will meet one day, same for you Jake Raby.

Steve, I never dynoed my engine, after the last rebuild, think of that. I only dream of 200-210HP, if they become real, I'll be very happy about that. Also my engine will rev to 8K, but not more, never ever.
I told you, that there are engines, that can be reved to 9K's, but that's nothing realistic to compete with, only for dirt/mud-racing here in Germany and the Netherlands.

As for this topic, I just wonder what will happen. Are you guys planning a real shootout or just discussing facts and rumours? Maybe there are more guys interested in testing a Type 4 vs. a Type 1 for competition and street use, even on the 1/4mile, with fair engines in fair cars! Just my 0,02$!

The $ I put up was real, but once I did that, the Type 1 fanatics got real quiet. :-)

Type 1 makes more power, but keeping it cool is another matter, and that's why I run a type 1 for street hunting, but if I was going to do high speed runs for long distances, the T-4 is where it's at.

Are you challenging me or my motor? I'm up for it. My motor is not.

I see your lil LOL too. Drop it Jacob, it's over. I see your angle and I'm not impressed with it, where's the professionalism with you and your shop. I for one wouldn't buy from a smart mouth kid.

Like I told the Cap'n, I'm done with you, unless you feel you need to do something?!

If you were refering to the engine contest, forget it. I don't have a shop, dyno or time and money to blow my motor up in an unfair attempt to prove nothing. I like Bad's more realistic challenge.

If you are continueing to accuse me of tucking my tail and talking crap, DON"T.

Now I'm done Cap'n.

I'll call you Jake.

>>>There is no hard feelings here, we just need to do the challenge, and see who the victor is all around.<<<

"all around victor?" think back to your fourth grade science classes, guys... you and john are not proposing a controlled experiment that would scientifically prove anything.

for instance, there is no statistically significant control group... using only one motor from each platform is worthless.

second, the conditions proposed have been nowhere near scientific... for instance, with no control group, you'd have to magnaflux practically every moving part first, in order to help insure that premature failure didn't alter the test results.

in other words, it's a fool's game regardless of which platform you like.

Lets cut the crap and lets get back to what was mentioned earlier......

We have shops willing to dish out some money for a T1 versus T4 shoot out which I hope will happen. Maybe that might be interesting for other shop owners as well displaying their stuff and show everyone on how they work.

what needs to be done for it and where would it happen? I am very interested in that test and maybe some mags will be intersted in featuring it too. Hopefully it will be near enough for me to reach it in a day or two.

Alex

Don't see it happening, Alexander. Time came and passed for Dan and Darryl to put up or shut up but they refuse to do either. From what they've written it's obvious they don't know anything about T4's and they aren't serious, so it's probably best to just ignore them. Unless someone else more serious from the T1 camp shows up this isn't going anywhere.

I think we should not make it dependent on Dan or Darryl....we should just do it to prove a point...no matter what the outcome may be.

I just think it could be very interesting to see the results. We have shops willing to help in the States and even in Germany. Why not just do it and have some fun with T1 and T4 people.
Stock versus stock would be boring.....50hp more in the T4 makes it unfair but what about two nicely tuned engines on the track strip and stand??? To make it fair the motors need to be installed in the same car to make a good comparrison.
