48IDF vs. 48IDA
Is there really a big difference between the 2 performance-wise?

48IDF vs. 48IDA
I've corresponded with guys that have used both and they say they can't tell a difference. One guy said he made a very small power gain on a dyno with the IDF's compared to the IDA's. IDF's are also physically smaller, less expensive and easier to tune.

So why does everyone gotta have IDA? Is it because they are more rare?

if i remember correctly the IDAs are also annular discharge. which makes them illegal for certain types of racing(mostly SCCA)
and IDFs have chokes where IDAs dont

??? Most IDF's don't have chokes, in fact I have never seen one with chokes.
I think the biggest deal with IDA's is that is what the original Cal-look cars in the '70's had. The carb bodies are much larger, so they look really cool! But I doubt there is any performance difference, and IDF's run better on the street without any modifications. Plus they are still being made which makes them much more available and affordable.

IDF's come with chokes, but are mostly replaced with a block off plate since most don't use em.

I don't think Jake meant he is using NOS as in NO2, but he has a set of NOS(New Old Supply) DRLAs.
