Saco Performance shut down

Saco Performance shut down

Post by fordfreak »

So apparently the two owners of Saco (German auto) in Santa Fe Springs CA passed away a few months ago. The employees were trying to keep it running I was told. I drove by today and their building is up for sale. Sad thing for Saco. They were legends and had great parts they made in house.

Does anyone know what happened to their inventory or machinery?

I haven't heard anything, but it would be nice to know.

As in the R & P steering units? That Saco? I had no idea that German Auto was making them.

It's not complicated, it's just expensive...

Yes, same people. The back of the shop at German Auto was a full CNC shop. It was impressively hidden. lol

Found out the children of one of the owners sold the building and machines. I drive by it often in Norwalk, CA. It's all gone. Looks like Kartek is having racks machined and are available now. So at least the industry is not lost for parts still.
