IRS for a 66 Split
hey dont get me wrong ive had some seriously quality products from creative eg shocks , lowering adjusters and the like, their engineering is second to none all that i will say that when you cut of those gear box support mounts they will be extremely hard to refit (note nearly impossible to refit) if your bothered about re sale value as you know trends tend to come and go one day you may want to go back to reduction gears, just food for thought.

Wouldn't you be able to just mount up a regular stock bus transaxle if you wanted to not use the IRS after welding in the CE kit? Seems all the mounting frame horns do is give you a built in mount for the trailing arms. Other than that, they perform the same purpose as the stock ones. So other than look, they'd perform the same function...wouldnt' they?
I'm still thinking of using this kit myself on a future project.

Oh yeah, there's a few busses out there where the owners boxed in the IRS trailing arm mounts themselves within the stock tranny frame horns. Lots of work involved in that job for sure.

I have them on my Bus. other then welding one a couple of degrees off level, they would take a stock setup down the road.
Where you ever able to translate the German Doc?

Good info to know. How did you like the conversion? Seems like the way to go to me. Most affordable if your good at scrounging parts, and ends up with no specialized parts. Just my opinion. I'll probably order the "kit" from them when i have the extra cash. Already have all the rest of the stuff from a bay.
p.s. Have the document maybe 1/2 done, havn't worked on it since then. Need to finish that. Thanks for the reminder. Havn't found any new info on it yet. But all good stuff nevertheless.

Sorryfor the delay yes I do have the adjustable arms took me a little to set up but the bus handles really well though I think I'll get a set of the dropped spring platefor alittle more suspension movement on our crappy roads.

How do these adjust, which end, and how much adjustment do you think they have?
I've emailed Kimm, but so far no answer

The mounting bush has an eccentric centre so first you get it as close as you can then tighten the clamps and make the final adjustments with the mountig bolt . It is suprising how much the whole thing moves by just turning the mounting bush.
