Will putting a K&N or Cone Filter help my vehicle in any way.
A few guys have told me the fuel consumption might improve a bit?
Is there any possibility of damaging something by using this filter?

As long as you dont drive a lot in dusty conditions you'll be fine. Some guys dont Luke them as they dont filter as good as paper, but I had 485,000km on my last s10 when the body fell off of it. It only used 1/4 L of oil between changes at 5000 km (3000miles)

If the engine is mostly stock then swapping to a K&N filter will yield little to no difference. The majority of fuel mileage comes from driving style. Drive like an old lady (no offense to old ladies) and you'll get better fuel economy.
