Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Oh darn. Hooked up the 2 step. By the way clone I found plenty of ways to connect it ground trigger. Easy! But I took a couple quick videos but I was working the the throttle by hand (rigged it to be closed) and it is way too loud on the video and just sounds like rattling noise. Oh well. Fun to play with for a minute.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
If you use it and launch then maybe it’ll expedite your transmission purchase to match your 1915.
Or maybe it’ll just be fun.

You don't need launch control to detonate a transmission.......
Don't ask...........

I doubt I use it to launch. Not something I really need to do around town here. Though I'm sure it would be fun to take off with 15 psi or so!

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Question: did you baseline tune with 94 then extrapolate a E85 tune or did you just auto tune with E85 and 93 separate ?

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
I started it with 93. Never drove it though. Just worked out the bugs. I only had a couple gallons of it in there, I once it was about empty, I filled it with E85. I just let the flex fuel sensor do its thing. A few months ago I filled it back up with 93, turned the boost controller off, and again, let it do its thing. That was when I was using it as a daily and it did a good job adjusting on its own. Ran a couple tanks of 93, then went back to E85.
My car seemed to like the 93 better. Started better and felt more crisp. But kind of boring at 12-15 psi.

1600 turbo build thread
Thanks! Got some 850cc injectors on the way and I’m looking to cross it over to e85, just wanted to make sure I was reading the manual correctly about it being a multiplier based off ethanol content.buguy wrote:I started it with 93. Yes it's a multiplier.
850's are what I have in mine now. I think the most I've seen is around 65% duty cycle at around 30 psi on E85.

Can you build boost while on the 2 step?

I haven't tried that yet but I'm sure it will. I will try it tonight and report back.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
Ok. I went out and tried it. I have the car at home and there were a ton of old people outside so I didn't want to go nuts. I saw 5 psi on the boost gauge. That is with the limiter set at 3000 and spark cut only. Something I didn't like is on the log, the afr was about a point leaner than my target when it was popping and banging.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
I have tested my launch control about 3 times since I installed it.....I have never launched with it. I have seen about 6 lbs boost at 4000 rpm launch setting.
I haven't ever held it down for more than a second or two though......
Maybe once I have my new transmission I can give it a test......

Yeah I probably didn't hold mine for even 2 seconds. Everyone was already staring at me! Went in the house and the wife had the TV turned up pretty loud. Guess she didn't like it either!

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
I've done it at work nice and far from home. Got some odd looks from a few coworkers. 6000 rpm 21psi. Took a couple seconds. Didn't let the clutch out on that one. I save it for the dragstrip.
