Just mount the bus tow bar on the front bumper in the up position. Good luck. Bob Ingman

We don need no steenkin' CVs. Image
However I do carry a special bearing puller, full set of reduction box bearings, front wheel bearings/seals, axle, fulcrum plates, various thrust washers or Berg poor man's posi, brake wheel cyls, master cyl, wires, plugs, carb, turnkey spare 1600, will carry spare trans., 5 gal. gas, two tool boxes, two big ammocans of parts (fuelpump, cables, seals kits, spare adjustable pushrod tube/pushrods, nuts and bolts stuff, throttle connector, fuses, various wiring and connectors spare full rocker shaft assy, blah blah) oil, trans, brake fluid. Floor jack, light for working in the dark. Pre-greased working clothes. CB & or cell phone. Visa and beer. Now the mpg sucks, but I won't be stuck in Yukon Territory asking somebody for parts for a 58 bus hopefully. Depends on how far you are going and how far up a creek you can get I guess. Oh yeah, I finally got AAA after blowing up the Berg engine a couple weeks ago. Image Thinking of taking a bus towbar too, but that means roofrack and even worse mileage. That's all I can think of, but there's more I'm sure.

Yeah, but my spare's there already. And the towbar would be the kind that clamps onto the torsion beam. Looks like that trip is off again though anyway. I'm going to Texas this week, don't need all that stuff just to go a few hundred miles. (I hope!)

I just had to put a plug in my tire this week, those kits are cheap and quick, might pick one up to go with a small air compressor, Bring Water when traveling anywhere, and a blanket in cooler weather

Have one of the kids at home on standby ready to bring the tow vehicle and a car dolly.

OK...List this....
- Fuel Pump
- Complete Distributor(Not all the parts around it...just bring a complete one)
- Carb....No one said that yet! Dude...I have carb trouble quite a bit...and a complete bolt on one(pre-tuned, and in a box) is great!
- Cables...All you can think of
- Clutch Plate(they've been known to colapse, or break)
- A spare head or 2...(for valve problems)

Basically it's all about preperation...if you check everything out, and you know it's fine, then you learn to trust the bus more...Just get things serviced regularly, and theirs less trouble. You can bring parts for things you're worried about...

We travled in mine to Big 10 football games.

Spare tapper for the quarter barrrel a must!

It's a camper, quarter barrel option sold only here in Wisconsin. Woops -- you could also order it that way in the home land.

Go Badjers!
