DTM air hose/oil cooler air hose size and alternatives?

I tried searching and I cannot find the answer anymore...

What size was the original Oregon Performance Products DTM T4 fan shroud hose size? My original hose is mangled pretty badly and starting to get moldy.

I believe it was originally a Left side 1972-79 Bus fresh air hose, but not sure.... ?

Has anyone found an alternative material to the cardboard style hose? I found a dryer vent hose that was close, but not the right diameter.
I would like to find some type of high temp PVC or another material that won't rub on the shroud and damage it, or deform from the heat of the engine bay.

Well if you have the shroud you can easily measure the outside dia size of the round tube part on the shroud that goes into the Cardboard tube.

Like maybe a 4" Dia flex hose. Then search the internet for a hose of the same dia. Maybe carbon fiber looking.

I got tired of replacing the cardboard and aluminum crap and bought aircraft hose from aircraft spruce. It lasts way longer.

That is a cool story about Joe L. Glad to hear you still have that shroud! He was a very nice guy and was happy to promote the T4 and his product. I really miss him and people like him. Too bad I didn't get to know him better. His health started failing a couple years after I met him. I'm pretty sure my shroud is the last one he was working on...his son Vince had to finish it.

The correct hose is:
VWC-211-261-236-A - HOT AIR FAN HOSE RIGHT BUS 72-79 VANAGON 80-83
I got one from CIP1 for $8 that was made in Denmark. Looks to be really close to the original I got so many years ago.

The correct fan belt is 10mm x 925mm in case someone finds this thread and needs a size.

That didn't work exactly as I expected... I hope you can click on the link and see them. They are by no means pretty. But they definitely last. And come in many different sizes. You do have to measure to make sure you get the right size.

They don't stretch in diameter but will hose clamp down some.
