Looking at a SC a few days ago and the owner says that it was lowered with dropped spindles and because of it the speedo does not work.
Can someone maybe explain why this is and if there's any work around to get it working?

Michael.. an SC? do you mean Split Crewcab?
The van uses a front wheel speedo drive. The speedo cable actually passes through the centre of the spindle. I would expect that on the dropped spindles your friend is using, there is no hole in the new spindle for the cable to pass through.
He needs to drill a hole through for the cable to pass through.
