Does anyone know if the "flip-seat" Westfalias (built 1961-65?), that lacked the wall behind the fron seat, where strengthened in any way? Or can one just remove that wall?
Mine is a '66 sunroof double-door, and it is already strengthend with a double floor. Do I dare put the saw to it?

I would not cut a splitie these days. They are too rare.
Plus the flip seats are pretty hard to find once you do cut it.

The plan is to build a flip-seat of my own design.
But I don't want the bus to fold...

By the way, the same logic goes for the walk-throughs. Are they strengthend in any way?
