Hi, i am building a new 2110 to run EFI, i have been collecting parts slowly now on and off for the last 6 years, and now that i am getting nearer to actually starting to build this up i am wondering if i have everything that i need. I would appreciate some input, i want to get everything in advance so that i dont have to stop and order more parts in the middle of the build.
I want to run CNP and sequential injection, or semi-sequential atleast. Running e85. This is going into a -59 type 1 so i expect to have to add a bunch of wiring.
What i have:
-MS2 v3.57 from DIY Autotune with their generic harness.
-IAT sensor
-CLT sensor
-Redline 50mm Throttle bodies, IDF w. TPS
-CB Performance fuel rails for Comp Eliminator intakes.
-Crank trigger wheel from thedubshop w. sensor and bracket
-LS2 coils for CNP
-CB Turbo fuel pump w. prefilter and inline filter after pump
-Fuel pressure regulator
-Bosch blue knight 42lb injectors, high impedance.
-Bosch 4.2 WB sensor
-Fittings and tank outlet and a bunch of fuel line. Thinking return through a tee.
What more do i need?
-Relay board?
-WB controller? can this be plugged directly into the MS2 or how does that work, or can the sensor be plugged directly into the MS2? (I have an old 14point7 in kit form, but i am sceptical that i can get it to work now, its been too long, and i would like something in an enclosure.)
-Cam sensor for sequential injection? Looking at thedubshops mini cam sync for this if needed.
Please add anything additional that i have not thought about or that would be necessary for this engine, i have never ran EFI before so it gets overwhelming at times when i think ahead to the first time to crank this beast over, i just want to get it running to do a proper cam break-in, that is my biggest fear at the moment, wiping the cam out by cranking for ever trying to get it to start!
Appreciate any help you guys can give!
Thanks
Tobias

50mm IMHO is going to be far too big on anything under 2.5L and 7500+ rpm.
38-40mm still flow ~ 48 IDAs.
Mini cam sync works fine.
You are going to need a 4 channel driver board to run sequential fuel.
It may be easiest/best to put it in an external box.
The old JAW widebands are bullet proof and work just fine, I put mine in a simple enclosure, used the metal lid as the heat sink. I still use it every day. Mines a 1.03.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: Do i have everything for MS2 install?
Yeah the 50 TB´s are probably too big, but they are what i have and funds dont allow new ones.
The engine will be 11.5:1 CR, FK87, Comp eliminators w. titanium intake valves and a really light valvetrain. running e85, so the 50´s, while big will hopefully work reasonably well at the rpm this engine will want to live anyway. Not sure what i will think of it on the street though, but that is something altogether different...
Thanks for your input, a 4-channel driver board will be researched and added to the list, and i will look over my JAW kit to see that i have everything and then build a box for it.
Nothing else that you can think of that is missing from my parts pile?
And i want to thank you for your contribution to this board, i read here alot even though i dont post that much, but i see your replies to more or less every thread and the information is, in my opinion, well thought through and well put.
Regards
Tobias

Re: Do i have everything for MS2 install?
I would strongly suggest selling of the idfs and just do a mid mount TB. Or use one idf in the middle. You can eliminate the need for complicated throttle setup, make it much easier to work on in terms of space, get some sweet fuel rails like this http://thedubshop.goodsie.com/billet-fu ... -manifolds
I have IDFs and I really wish I had gone a single setup in the middle, especially now that I'm turboed, its worthless to have them!
Also if you just have a CLT that you plan to stick in the valve cover or something, do yourself a big favor and opt for something like this.
http://thedubshop.goodsie.com/modified- ... emp-sensor
As far as first time starting, with full sequential you set it up on wasted spark so it fires both directions, incase your 180 degrees out. And If I was going to do this on a new motor, I would have Mario remote onto my computer and look over all my settings! Well worth the money and piece of mind

Re: Do i have everything for MS2 install?
Thanks for the reply, the IDF´s are staying though, i really like the look of duals on my engines, the car is going to have a really classic cal-look style and the engine needs to look the part as well. As long as you have a really good linkage i have not experienced any complications with the throttle setup, i had 44 IDF´s on the previous incarnation of the engine. No turbo in the future either, so not worried about complicated ducting or stuff like that that would make a single TB more suitable.
The CLT that you linked to looks good, will look into it further.

You do need a controller for the wideband lambda sensor. It doesn't just plug into the MS.
I did use the relay board but it's not essential. You will need to wire in your own fuses and relays though.
Do you have some means of producing a steady vacuum reading for the MAP sensor?

Regarding vacuum; yes, i thought about tapping all four intake runners and have tubing run to a central vacuum log and have that as input for the MAP, i hope that will provide a smoother signal. Would love to see examples of how others have done this as well.

Re: Do i have everything for MS2 install?
He has a wideband controller, and a good one, it just needs a case, as it came in kit form without one.
With something that wild you will probably be best off using the ITB mode, which is something of a Alpha-N/SD blend.
Using just the MAP sensor at lower RPM will probably not go well.
ITB mode was made for ~your setup..
