wiring the VR pickup through a bulkhead connector

Post by shepherd »

I'm in the process of installing a bulkhead connector in the wiring harness for my MS2 install. When you strip the outer jacket off of the VR sensor lead, you have a white lead, a black lead, and the shield. Should I dedicate a pin for the shield, and if so, how do I terminate it and where?

The shield is best disconnected at one end to eliminate ground loop noise.

I'd run it unbroken, separate from the connector, but if you must, ground it at both ends and do not connect it at the bulkhead. try to ensure the used pins are physically as far away from ign and injector or PWM pins as possible.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
