I am wanting to install the Speed Sensor from my AEM on the Ghia .......
What I've got is a 091 bus trans with 930 CV's (I'm guessing that would be a good place to mount it)
Requirements from AEM is that it needs to a Hall Effect Sensor
Has anybody done anything along these lines or possibly that can point me in a general direction to get me started or maybe is there a complete setup out there that I could modify a little to make it work?????
Thanks Guys

Just thinking out loud here, but why couldn't you mill the lip off one of your CV output shafts and have a thin 36-1 or similar type of wheel mount between the CV and the flange?? Then you could make a bracket off the side cover for the hall sensor so it senses the teeth.

I'm using the type 1 version of this pulse wheel, this sensor bracket, and this hall sensor. The hall sensor looks to be on permanent back order tho... Maybe Mario has one stashed somewhere?
All I can say is the above setup works great on my MS3, so good in fact that I use my phone connected to my ecu for my speedometer.

2333(103x70) Type 4 DTM MS3+X on 73 Karmann Ghia ignition only with LS2 truck coils firing in sequential, fuel next.

Made by TPC, probably for T4 CVs, but may offer similar for 914/T1 CVs.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: NEED -- Speed Sensor for the EFI/Data recording/speedo
Christiano Rodrigues, a very hard core VW drag racer from Curitiba ,Brazil heard my plea for help on another forum and turned me onto Pacific Customs and they had exactly what I was looking for::::
http://www.pacificcustoms.com/mm5/merch ... s-hardware
and looking just a bit further I found the sensor mount for the trans I've got -- --
The real kicker is that a guy from Brazil pointed out a supplier to me that is only about 20 miles from my house, So I'll be waiting at their front door tomorrow when they open.... How cool is that!!!!!!
Thanks again Christiano

You IRS guys have it so easy! I just set up my swing axle car with front and rear VSS using Hall effect sensors. And managed to keep the stock speedo fully functional. Pretty excited for the doors that opened since I gave the ecu the speed inputs...Traction control, boost by gear, boost by mph, etc.

One final post -- I found the Hall Effect sensor to use with these
The part number I need from Honeywell is SR4P3-A1
http://sensing.honeywell.com/product-page?pr_id=56074
They are about $5 dollars more than the GT101 at $43 each at Mouser Electronics.....
I'm gonna finish this damn thing on of these days LOL
