Forum,
I have been lurking around and reading posts for a couple of years and have finally taken the plunge. Mario and Slowtwich have been helping me gather the parts and I am finally pulling the trigger.
I am about to mount my ECU under the rear driver side seat and I have mounted the relay board on top of the ECU. I should have checked with the forum before drilling but I am on a roll and just went for it. Is there any issue having the relay board mounted on top of the ECU?
I am trying to mount the ECU as far as possible to the drivers side. Will the heater duct cause an issue with the harness between the relay board and ECU? Notice in the pic that the harness sits neatly under the duct.
Also, I am planning on drilling 2 - 1" holes just to the right of the starter wire and passing all the sensor wires through the them. Does anyone see any problems with that?
Thank in advance.

Baja you don't want electronics below where you plan on having the water line at. Any creek crossings in the plans?
Put your wiring hole near the starter or in the same hole. Just seal it well and silicone it up. I have a metric ton of wiring running through my heater duct hole near the starter wiring.

Just make sure you put a grommet in that hole to protect the wires from the sharp edge of metal.
You could also do two holes and run your sensors through one and the ignition related wires through another.

Thanks for the feedback. I did cut 2 holes and used a grommet. I plan on sealing as well I case I find a puddle.
I am trying to upload pictures and they are too large. Can anyone recommend an app for my iPad that will resize without too much trouble. I was hoping to share more pics as it comes together.

You have to post the photos to something like Photobucket.
Then you can post the links to the photos on the site.
STF does not host pictures.
I use Photobucket and upload to the PB site at 800X600 pixels. Anything larger will not post.

I just use the photo editor that was preloaded on my phone and resize them, any free photo app should work fine.

Here is a shot of my ECU bolted in place and a couple of holes grommeted to run the wires.

Welcome Orange! Yeah, don't stall on any stream crossings
If its a street Baja or dry desert only you are good, but I put mine in the rear well behind the seat just in case...

I don't plan on doing any stream crossings in my squareback, but I hung my ECU under a 1/8" aluminum plate about where yours is, screwed in to the angle body mounting lip at the rear of the same area.
All my relays/fuse box for the MS/WB etc mount on top.
Keeps it about 4-6" off the floor.
I use that plate as the "engine" ground wise, all grounds except for the LS2 coils power grounds tie together there.
As you have discovered, STF does allow uploading, must be 800x600 or smaller (either aspect ratio) and 125KB or smaller, jpg or png work well, BMP works too but is uncompressed.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
