I have a 2110 fuel injection motor running a haltech f10x ,I had someone setup and dyno the car and all went well.My question : I have a laptop running windows 7 and most people know the f10x haltech won't run on windows 7.I really don't want to go out and buy another laptop. Is there any downloads on the net that will allow me to get around this issue.
Thanks Johnny

Re: Haltech f10x
What OS does the software require?
DRDOS7 IIRC is a free download... The maintainer is even working on USB support..
.
Opendos is a Free option as well, and there are various freedos-related projects that will run directly under Linux (and perhaps Win7)
VirtualBox works quite well for running many OS in a virtual machine, on decent hardware it's ~as fast as running on bare metal, also free for personal use. (The OSE edition is free for any use, lacks a couple features like USB passthrough)
If you need Win98 or later VirtualBox is probably the way to go, I feel it's really the only sane way to run any version of Windows, as it has a magic "undo" button or sorts that Windows has always desperately lacked. (snapshots)
Unless you are playing games, highly recommended.
I have Win8.1 vms running on my old Lenovo laptops as I was tired of having to boot into Windows.
The VMs are at least as fast, Win8.1 running under Linux.
I use VMWare workstation for those, but only because I had bought licenses to support another project that required vmware.
