cam choices

the engine i am preparing is a t1 92 by 78, going with Revmaster Automotive heads, 049 CNC ported 40×35.5
not sure what chamber size i want to go with yet, but this engine will be used in a little 2 seater sandrail, and id like it to last a long time.

i have been eying the Engle FK43 very hard, but i would love to run 9:1 compression for this. problem is it says Works best with Compression from 8.25-8:75:1. obviously that is not really sounding tailored to my build. is there another cam that is working well with that rev range, while having less dynamic compression?

What rev range exactly? The FK43 is a very forgiving broad RPM cam that makes plenty of torque, I think it would be fine for your combination.

i know, thats why it appealed to me. 2500-6000RPM ish. but i was concerned it would not play well with 9:1 compression

it will be fine with 9:1 comp, have you worked out your dynamic compression? to do this you need rod length, deck height, chamber size, etc.

Some of my favourite cams are FK43, GB309, V26, CB2288 all very similar in power delivery.
