Yeah I understand that. I want to use the wiring kit because it has all the different colors and the wiring is water/oil resistant. But it looks like in order to have less than a 1% voltage drop thats not gonna be possible if I do it that way.

Ok here is an update. Settled on a wiring diagram, finished the dash, put the fuel cell in, hood is on now too along with some other misc. things. Just need to get more stuff for the wiring and I can start on that.

Ok it has been a long time. Life got in the way and I had to take a bit of a break. But I have been working on this thing every weekend for a while now to get it done. I might break this up into multiple posts. Here I put in new ball joints and tie rods, cleaned up and painted the arms and drums. Also put in longer studs.

Got the wiring all done. Came out pretty nice, I am happy with it. The oil cooler got installed and fan hooked up to it, used AN fittings and nylon braided lines. The engine is installed also but I will have a picture of it in the next update.

Ok this is were it is currently now. I got to drive it around the yard a bit. Type 2 cv's cleaned up and repacked with Redline synthetic cv grease, chromoly(sp) axles. Got all the brake lines hooked up, used steel braided lines but did not get the brakes bled yet. Pedals are installed. Installed the windshield and made some lexan windows for the rear quarters and got the fuel cell filler mounted. It is a little thinner then I wanted but it will work, just picked up at home depot. Need to do:

Skid plates - 1/4 6061T is what im going to try and use.
Hook up radio cables
Hood and decklid hold downs.
Bleed brakes.
Rebuild steering stabalizer.
Rebuild front shocks, add more compression.

Then go out and test it. Very close, I dont have the material for the skid plates yet. Going to be $$$ and I dont have a way to bend it. So I will probably end up building a brake press for my buddies 20 ton press, but we will see.

FYI, I was able to find big pieces of 1/4" 6061 at the local scrap yard that I made my skid plates out of. At only $2 per pound, it was the cheapest way to go. Had to do a little digging, but I found virgin pieces that a large fab shop had tossed out. It's very tough stuff and doesn't like to bend much. Works great as skid plates though.

Another table but take note at the bottom of the first table. You can overcome this by annealing the metal but then you have to re-temper which most of us either don't have skill, patience, or facilities for.

In doing a search for the same thing, you also might notice a difference in the minimum inside bend radius in all the sites you might visit. This might be/can usually be attributed to use origin: aircrafts' use might generate different limitations than marines' or general constructions' limitations based on many factors such as stress, flexing, being pounded upon and so on; e.g., "one size does not always fit all" as is true for one's pocket book.

Could you elaborate on your dash please. What kind of black material is that? Then is it just pop riveted on top of the old dash? Is it airtight? Thanks.
