Great! Should be slower, heavier and more expensive with a V8.
FYI we are just about to release a billet adaptor plate for the Chevy LSX series engine blocks to mate up to any Subaru transaxle. That might help if you are set on a V8.

whats with the attitude? I've been checking out your site, really like your products, and I was actually going to email you. Now Im curious about your wisdom of slower, heavier, and more expensive? maybe if we can get on the same page I can buy an adapter from you. I do have drawing for a custom flywheel and Im working on CAD drawings for the adapter plate but i still haven't received the trans from the previous owner.

Got your email thanks. I just thought it was a waste of a really good driveline.
I've seen so many people just throw in a wheezy V8 to whatever conversions because 'It's a V8 so it must make a lot of power' yet they tend to have less power and carry more weight than a good turbo 4 cyl.
After our email discussion though, I have to say I'm keen to see you make it happen.

Alright guys so I have a question.
I need to convert from cable clutch to hydraulic and was thinking about this. Its made for Hondas but it seems to accept the clutch cable on one side with a pivot to puch a master cylinder on the other. could mount it and run a line to the slave on the subaru trans. what do you think? any other options?

This is what I am running. Its from SACO and they will sell you individual parts if you don't want the kit. I had my pedal cluster modified to run either the early or late clutch shaft to dial in the feel. I am running the hard line through the old clutch cable tube and using a Subaru slave cylinder. About as simple as it gets.

That's a really cool pedal mod!

Search google for "saco hydaulic clutch" before buying that SACO unit. People have had tons of problems with them.

Steve is correct in that people have had issues with them. Most of them have been identified and sorted out with respect to using the proper clutch arm, push rod length, MC internals and slave cylinder. I am willing to do a little work here and there to keep it hidden in the tunnel so I don't have an unsightly aftermarket one that breaks through the front bulkhead, hangs from the lower dash or sits on the pan. I will post up how the Suby slave cylinder works with the SACO MC when I get there.
Thanks for the input Steve

I plan to do the same thing with my baja, but I have a CNC master that I am going to make my own bracket to mount.
