Hi,
I've been running one on the street for years with a Berg Strip/ Strip disk. No problems. Simply use a longer 76 clutch arm for the extra leverage to make a nice soft pedal.

I ran one with a black magic on the street. I now run a stage 2 and 4 puck and I think I preferred the stage 3 and BM. I ran a hydraulic setup with the stage 3, I think that made a big difference.

I run one in my street car, coupled with a Diamond Back clutch disk. Smooth engagment and holds against over 280whp and slicks, in my heavier than stock bug. I use the long arm as well. The clutch is definitely stiffer than a stocker, but really not bad at all.

Chip, is this the disc that Art sells? Is it also a sintered iron like the BM? I'm running a 4 puck now and there's not much street drivability for me.

Peach, You didn't say what you are running on the street nor did you say what kind of street driving you are doing either. In my opinion the max you want to go is a stage 2 PP but is it necessary for how you want to use your toy (are you flogging the puddin' out of it?.
I don't recommend a 4-puck on the street even with a stock PP! The 4-puck is unforgiving and can cause damage to the flywheel if you try to finesse the clutch. I use one them on the sand in a dedicated off-road glass buggy with a grunt 1776 engine but... I am using a stock PP and throw out bearing so it is less hard on the rest of the components. Driving on the sand is like driving with the front of the car pushing another car with it's brakes on. I destroyed a stock unit in just a few weeks (I do not ride the clutch) on the sand and I was being gentle with it. When I went to see an off-road engine builder and it was recommended to me to try the 4-puck (at the time it was $25). With a 4-puck, you cannot (well, to be honest you can but you are also causing damage to things) ride/finesse/slip the clutch; the clutch is either engaged or disengaged and that is about the way it has to be used and get any life out of things; it is meant as a racing clutch for goodness sake.
There are other discs like the Cush-lock or a sintered disc (if they are still available; not saying either is the best); I am not sure of the 6-puck although I think I remember hearing that it may be more forgiving.

It is the turbo disk that he sells. I don't think it sintered iron. Works really well though. Nice smooth engagement, but holds very well.gbaker770 wrote:Chip, is this the disc that Art sells?
