An engine run cart build

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Job well done! Now the real hard part starts... making sure it doesn't become a dust collector.

DG, I'm not too sure if I don't want it to be a dust collector; I don't like rebuilding/replacing engines very much. Right now the three ACVW engines in our group are doing fine!

It is surprising how much the cart holds. I think the v6 is about 365#s and the tranny's got to be somewhere around 30#s. I noticed that the .120 wall 1" square tubing used on the front mount has some bowing in it. It is kind of a heavy pull/push but full, the the cart maneuvers better then I expected (better then empty). It should be good for 1100#s if the wheels have anything to do with it.

I appreciated all the input I got during the build especially the ones the "point outs" that corrected incorrect assumptions I had made. They made life a bit easier as I didn't have to go back and correct the problems.

Thanks guys!

My favorite part is the aircraft 747 handle throttle lever.

I worked on the 747 but never in the cockpit. I prefer to consider it a 4 speed hydro shifter similar to what I had in my '54 Studillac.
