Tunerstudio Lamda delay

Post by nine76chris »

Anyone care to share their O2 sensor delay table for VEAL? Engine running decent now ready to tune.

Dual 48mm CB TBs
1 5/8 merged
40 psi on 30lb/hr injectors

Ah, gwasshoppa, what you seek is in your logs
(It's really pretty easy...)

And welcome to the STF!!!

The best way I have figured out how to do it, lacking firmware support for hard transitions
(temporarily) set up 3 columns in to AFR target table (or mod your ve table, your choice) dead rich, at say... 2200, 3900, and 4800.
(or whatever works with your tables/rpm range)

Go for a drive. Log it. Beat it up.
When reviewing the logs in MLV, watch the delay from the injector PW increase to the sensor response at various maps and spec'd RPMs.

Enter data in table, then start running VEAL.

Note: if you make a new project, you will have to export/import the table, it's not part of the MSQ.
also, the delay also is affected by AFR and exhaust temperature (of the pipes as well as EGT) so there may be some variation, as in all things. You may also see a different delay if those 3 columns are LEAN.(I don't know which data is more useful)

Also note--- MY engine//header/collector setup is almost certainly not like yours, unless you have a T4 with EMW hx delete pipes extended 1" and a 914 Bursch exhaust bolted on, comprising an ~equal length long tube 4-2-1 with a long collector.
(RPMs were 2200, 3900, 5400)

delays at idle RPM/MAP can push 2 seconds, which is largely the root reason you can't really use cl EGO control at idle.
The firmware doesn't have a lambda delay table...yet.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank you piledriver. That sounds like a great way to do it. 30kpa would have to be decel but I can make it work. Great advice.

change the numbers to what makes sense for your engine, the right column should be ~near redline.
you might want to set the bottom row at ~cruise kpa
