The old dipstick tube in an AS case was damaged, so we pulled it out.
Is replacement tubing available that will fit?

I checked around and I guess replacement tubes are not available any more.
They used to be fairly common when T3 cases were being converted to T1, but those days are gone and apparently so are the replacement tubes.

At last, a use for H5/B5 cases...they can be dipstick-tube donors

We have a case with a hole blown out of the top that can supply us with a serviceable dipstick tube.
Rather have a new one though.

We considered flipping the tube, but it is too damaged and got even worse when we pulled it out.
The tube in the case that broke #4 rod seems pretty good, so if we can get it out without tearing it up we should be OK.

I'd sharpen a cape chisel and slice that thing open to expose the tube...it's not as though its value as a doorstop will be diminished.
