Fuel Filter removal
This could be the trickiest question I have ever asked on any veedub forums.
I have moved the fuel filter to the underside of my '69 Beetle. Every time I go to change the filter I have to cut it off the fuel line. It is just near impossible to get that Sumbeach off with just a tough pull. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have an idea for a quick fix. I've been working on an idea for a removable and replaceable piece of the fuel line complete with an inline shutoff valve. I've also just about got to the last stretching point of the current fuel line.

I Love ALL VWs, but it is called a Type 1 for a reason.

Re: Fuel Filter removal
Your idea for a shut off valve makes the most sense..... Cut off at the fuel tank, direct to the filter (Under the front end), and typically not a problem after that.
I have found them completely missing more than once. - PILEDRIVER

Re: Fuel Filter removal
I used to have the same problem but solved it by using a 2 two foot long connecting rubber fuel line--I can now simple remove the wheel and the fuel filter is right in front of me and I can tug and remove and replace the fuel filter.
