The plates are still in progress. I have a hot job at work that is tying up my CNC mills at the moment. The tablet for tuning is forcing me back to the Fujitsu that I was using before. Just bought another one off of Ebay for $30. Swap the SDD out and I'm back in action. Going to build a sealed housing for it this time, but that's a subject for a different thread.

Neon Hall sensors are almost free, including OEM grade connectors and a nice hunk of harness with OEM grade automotive wire in the length you cut.
Neon are like rats in junkyards... Hiding Everywhere.

That sensor is rarely ever the reason the car is in the junkyard.
(Only helps if you have decent junkyards nearby though)

...
Sounds like someone is selling non-automotive grade hall sensors to MS'ers.
Where did you get it?
A reputable seller might take it back for full credit/exchange for one that does work at normal engine temps.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

VR sensors are more robust and resilient to extreme environments.

They get a bad wrap because of problems with early MS setups.

I snatched a VR sensor off an old 5 cylinder Volvo. It works great. BWM inline sixes also use the same one. The windows in the flywheel trigger on the two models I referenced are over a half inch wide. I'm sensor teeth that are 3/16" and it works great (just run a tighter air gap with smaller teeth).

DITAutotune. Pretty reputable MS site IMHO. I'll contact them on Monday if I get time.

I didn't realize that the Hall I bought was rated at such a low temperature. Since I already have my MS2 configured for a Hall sensor, however, I'll just stick with Hall sensors instead of VR.....for now.
I'm wondering if I damaged the sensor by overheating it during heat soaking after the engine died.

Here are pics of the modifications I made to my Hall sensor in an attempt to keep the sensor cooler.:

Naturally, as soon as I assembled and adjusted these parts, it started raining.
However, my daughter drove it 6 miles last night and it never skipped a beat. It was only about 60 degrees outside though.
