Best spark plug inserts - 2013.

Post by D7 »

Have 3 out of 4 spark plug threads on my heads which have not blown out but probably could have some problems down the track. As I have the heads off now just wondering what the latest product works the best? I believe Time Cert and Big Sert are good but is there anything new on the market now that's even better.

After reading about everything available on the net I have decided the only way o go is with Time-Cert.
14 x 1.25mm (14mm Spark Plugs), Standard Repair, 4412.

You folks in the good ole USA are sure lucky you can rent this tool from Aircooled Net.

An important point - John at Aircooled advises using the copper inserts. The part I like best about this product is that they supposedly are better than the original head threads.

I presume I would need "washer seat" style rather than "taper seat". inserts. And probably 1/2 Inch long.
Anyone know for sure?

Aluminum heads use straight holes, you find the tapered seats on cast iron
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.
