Does anybody have the stock vanagon (2.0L) base tune? I am using microsquirt for fuel control only, and distributor for timing/firing.
I'm planning to fire up the van tomorrow for the first time with the squirt, and it would be nice to have a base pointer.
My setup is:
Compression: 7.3:1
Valves: 42mm intake x 36mm exhaust
Does anybody keep a database of these tune files?

If you have a wideband O2 sensor and a registered version of tunerstudio it is easy to make your own base fuel map. figure out what the motor wants for idle (max manifold vacuum), type 4's like to cruise in the 15:1 afr range, and WOT on that compression/timing should be around 13:1 afr.luftvagon wrote:Does anybody have the stock vanagon (2.0L) base tune? Re: Stock Vanagon 2.0L type4 base tune
I can send you my old MS2 tune when I get home.
There are a LOT of them posted on msextra.
It was on a 1.8 with a bigger plenum and 2L heads, Web73, EMW pipes with a Bursch attached, but it should be a reasonable starting point.
(At least it has a plenum with factory manifolds, more or less)
You will need to change a bunch of settings though, set sequential/CNP with a 6/1 wheel setup, ~230cc injectors.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Maybe you can post screenshots; that would be a good starting point.

You have a PM.luftvagon wrote:Maybe you can post screenshots; that would be a good starting point.
Taking screenshots of everything, scaling them all and posting them here is a huge time sink and only fills up the STF server.
(I have done it many times)
I just posted my warm up/lambda delay tables in another thread...

For my current MS3 setup, but a reasonable starting point.
