good questions!
When i tried to put those plugs in on test run, i found that my cases (2) - the cast was out of round on the front seal surface. that would prevent good closing with the plug unless the cast is cleaned/sanded.
...speculating as well...

The "seal" surface on a T1 is potentially subject to some wear, on a T4/WBX it's actually machined for a seal, so getting it right is much more likely.
IIRC one of the accessories for those bars was a sand seal cutter, it must have been referenced off the old bearing bores.
As the accuracy of those setups are solely based on the seal surfaces at the ends, I was always highly dubious of how good a job they could do.
How accurate (or inaccurate) they are were laid out by no less than Gene Berg, who reported huge power losses with line bored cases, which really only could be attributed to the bearings not actually being in line.

EVERY liine bore tool for an ACVW that I know of undexes off the seal bore. since the seal bore should have ~0 loads on it, and was likely machined at the same time as the rest of the bores, I would think it makes the best index avail on such a block.
hugging corners, when I did this for a living there was a LOT of prep work getting a block ready for align bore, lots of lil gotchas and hangups to get out of the way before you could expect a good re-work.

thanx guys i think i got jelaous for those who know how to do it,
but i quess with this tool it is just like a paint job....many hours of prep to make a 5 min shoot.
maybe one day, when im not to hiped up having day off, ill try to focus and set up the tool to cut one of the block.
I am sure doing cut second time is much easyer..
