Expensive yard art..Immobile...iser killed our Bug.

Post by webyrd »

Still looking for help with Mexican Beetle Immobiliser .Keys with our only Immobiliser chip were stolen at school. Can prove the car is registered to me. Hard to believe I am going to have to strip the ecu, fuel and ignition system and wiring and replace with pre Immobiliser components to get my daughters car running again. The link that shows 2004 Ultima Edicion' Beetle Immo bypass is neat but is for a later model car. Mine is a 66' pan with a 98 Mexi reman. 1600 FI engine (aircooled) . Please help if you know a bypass or fix or ???

Can you hook Vag Com / RossTech to the ECU?

Dont have access to Vagcom /Rosstech, but I believe the car has a compatible diagnostics port.

We use Vag Com to program the radio anti theft and key codes all the time with VCDS from Rosstech. On Audis and late VWs. Not sure about your setup.

Well this bug is technically a 98' mex remanufacture on a 66' US pan. The Immobiliser is an XP4-M manufactured by CONLOG in South Africa. Cantacted them and the claim to manufacture utility prepayment hard and software. The VW-Audi partnumber is 1BO 937 050...printed on the case. Also a MOLEX module assy #640108914000 V01. Its really starting to look like strip electrical and install carbs...etc, time.

One thing you might want to try is, put the key in the ignition and turn it on, don't crank the engine. The immobilizer lite should be flashing. Let it go for 30 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less. If and when the lite goes ut, reset has taken place. This may work, it may not work, but it's worth a shot.
