I have a fiberglass buggy and I am trying to figure out which fuel tank is in it. chassis is a 65, fiberglass body is from pre-70 (paint is signed and dated '70) so that narrows down the tank that fits it. It has an electric fuel sender (dead, trying to replace) and a center fill cap, no filler neck. Any clues? I am trying to re-use a VDO guage I have, and want to buy a sender to match that will fit in the tank. I tried to use the sender I had lying around, but it was too long to fit the tank. And I can't just pull the hood and read the part number, which i wisely wrote down on the notebook that is always in the back of the buggy
and by always i mean, I can't find it, might have blown out...

fuel tank and sender
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

You asked a question that can could only be explained with a picture, without including the picture.
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.
