Hey fellas,
New to the forum and needing help in a big way. Have spent almost a year trying to dial in my carbs on a 1679cc engine that is in my dune buggy. The carbs are the duel solex kit from CB. I bought larger venturis for them and the ones that came with were sized for a 1200cc engine.
Long story short I can't get them dialed in. Current jets sizes are as follow:
Idles: 52.5
Airs: 200
Mains: 160
Distributor is 009.
I have the idles dialed in pretty well. My mains are a bit lean but the problem seems to be transition. When cruising at 30 to 40mph it will lean out and I have to give it some pedal to clear it up. Its just a slight stumble but noticeable and my OCD will not let me drive it that way.
I have been using a Wideband gauge to do the tuning as well. My next plan of actions was to bump the airs up to either 220 or 240 to bring the main in sooner and bump the main up to 165 to go with the air jet change.
Any help you guys can give will be greatly appreciated.
