No opinions? I have seen that WW has 18 gauge pans>. That's probably the heaviest or is it?

Re: Type 1 Floorpans
I didn't answer as I am not sure where mine were made but from what I think I know, there are three weights of pan half or quarter pans available.

This style come from Brazil and they are usually painted black; they have the thinnest material of the three. The forming is OK but as I remember there was some bunching in the areas of spherical radiuses in the rear floor’s deep draw area (you can see that in both pictures). Fit was off a bit but not enough to make a big difference.

This shows the underside with some additional supports laying in to check for fit. As the above picture shows, I installed them but I felt the material was just too thin for what I was going to use the buggy for. A lot of people use them and have no problems so this extra information is for your edification only.
When you order off-line this is probably, unless otherwise stated, what you will get. I would definitely ask before you buy. Sinced I did't want the seat mounts I had to remove them by drilling out the spot welds and then plug welding the holes closed.

The next heavier, the ones I have are painted an orange color. Each side/pan half came in three pieces: the pan half, the rear cross-piece and the jacking mount. Notice the absence of any brackets other than the battery box parts (not shown here as the battery is on the other side). The bolt for the pedal assembly is installed on the driver’s side pan half. Everything was crisp and clear. There was some trimming to fit necessary.

This shows the installation of the driver’s side pan but in the back you can see the separate rear cross-piece already tacked in place. Ignore the bit missing from the front cross-piece as it was removed for the installing of a hydraulic pedal assembly.
I understand that there is now an OEM weight style available but I was never able to find them.
I hope this helps some.

The ones I got locally "Autovise/Bow wow" I was able to get "bare" (timing was imprortant here) which meant that the seat brackets and other components were not installed.
(Edit) I added a few words on the Brazilian pan halves.

The Wolfburg West floors are terrific! Heavier than stock and a good fit in my '57. They seem to have all the years covered. Unfortunately, high dollar. But it's a job, I promise, you only want to do once.
