Need help with this....

Post by smartdriver »

Hi there,

I want to use this in my "Splitvan" but i'm unable to make anything of the instructions.

http://www.cableshift.com/VT-2/VW%20Type%20II.html

How to measure if used in a normal setup, you know, rear engine and the shifterbox placed up and just beside the driverseat, van is lefthand drive.

Do i measure the loop myself or is this calculated within the order, etc....

Anybody.... :(

you need to do all the measuring yourself. that includes the loop that you will need. do you have enough room in front of the trans for the linkage bracket to be attached?

What would be the best solution on this, i guess it won't hurt to order a bit longer then measured?
I could lay down a piece of gardenhose and measure that 'cause the instruction is difficult to understand in my situation.
I've send them an email a long time ago but never heard from them and my English isn't that good (so is my confindence) to call them and ask to explain so i need some help on this.

What if i take pictures or make a video and explain where what goes?

BTW, i use a 091 gearbox!

a garden hose will work great. if the hose does not kink then the cables would not. just remember to include the turn the cables will have to do to route back to the shift mechanism. dont worry about your English, if i tried to speak Norwegian you would beg me to stop.:)
