Class 11 Rebuild

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

When you were building your blue car, I was aware you had it garaged in with Ann's Bug. Then she told me at Tech a couple of years ago that she was retiring from racing. Then I've Teched this car several times since. I teased her a little about her retirement...

So does this mean you're going to run 2 cars in MORE Class 11 now? The class has been awful thin lately with just Depew running the last few until he wrecked his hard. Swisher hasn't run for some time and the Diabeticos team from Ensenada hasn't come up for a while. We haven't seen you with your blue car for a while either. What's up with it?

My blue car has been sold for a while now. The new owners did like two MORE races with it and then sold it to someone from Arizona. Diabeticos I believe retired also I am not sure about Swisher. I just got the itch to build something again and her's did need a rebuild so, from what I learned from my car plus working on her's this car will be different. Just got the main hoop done today and need to clean up the inside of the body and primer it. No pics will probably have some next weekend. And thanks Lotrat for the information.

Here is a little update. Not as much done as I wanted to but I have been busy with school, work, and other crap. Got the body interior cleaned up and primered. The main hoop was bent and mocked up also. Hopefully this weekend get the top and front bars done.

I love that hoop design. Can't wait to see more tubing.

Cool idea Herbie, pain to get in and out of though. Going to do that to yours, you do know where your Baja's at don't you?

I think that's the car we saw at the Mint 400 this year. The AZ guys were driving it from CA to AZ and stopped at the race on the way. Cool. 8) No windshield or anything.

No, that's just not going to be possible with the cage work. I plan on connecting the cage to the body in a lot of places.
