If you take the clamp off, you'll never know if the plug is advanced or retarded. J/K

Nice looking build BTW and I was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago - Holley carb and a dizzy and it ran great at WOT but was more of a pain to try to keep running like it is supposed to for daily driving. Made the switch to MS EFI and ignition 2 years ago and haven't had to touch a thing in so long that I've actually ended up spending more time driving the car than tinkering with it. What a concept....
The road to success is always under construction

Vee Dub Nut wrote: The ONLY other thing that I've seen for draining in the front of the sump that my be an option for a more direct hose is this fitting from CB (pn 7627) http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=310 I think they use that fitting on their typical hideaway kit they sell, but I have a suspicion that it would only really fit on the small frame turbo's like the S2A or similar. I think I saw a picture in their install instructions once that showed this fitting with a piece of pipe screwed into it that just went over the top of the collector tube. My problems with this type of setup is that first off I can't imagine you would get a nice large diameter tube screwed in for draining. Second, I've always heard that any sort of directional fitting immediately after the turbo was a no-no (but then again, so was goofy drain lines LOL). And lastly, having a metal pipe with oil in it just over the exhaust collector sounds like a good recipe to coke you oil in the tube. There isn't a ton of room under there.

I'd be curious to see what you end up with.
I run the aforementioned CB metal tube and drain fitting. It fitted the Holset turbo I'm about to take off and also fits the Schwitzer. No issues with the Holset (although only ran it for about 200 miles on 15W40). The Schwitzer was fine after its rebuild for the first 6 months, then it used to get smokey about 5 mins after a cold start and then clear once the oil got above 80*C (20W50). I imagine this was because the oil was maybe a little too thick to drain effectively down such a slight gradient and the cold oil in the sump was possibly restricting the return flow causing it to back up a little??? It never affected performance and always cleared once warm so I never bothered trying to fix it.

And a picture of it off the car:

It runs VERY close to the exhaust but I've never had a problem with it coking. I took this picture earlier today and the tube was nice and clear and always has been when I've taken it off the car in the past.

Thanks for those pictures Dan! Those are great. I think I'm going to order that drain fitting and check it out. I already tapped the sump so i just need to decide whether to go over or under the header.

I'd just eliminate all those joins and just run the hose right off that CB fitting into the sump. Just make sure you wrap the oil line with that orange heat wrap from your oil line supplier. Like this.......

I don't think I'd run all those joints. Just 5/8 hose (with heat wrap). Right now I could run it "with the droop" like panel or vdn. Both of you guys seem to be runnin good with no issues. With the cb fitting it just looks like one would be able to go over the collector to the side of the sump and have more of a straight, downhill shot. That only if the fitting looks open and free flowing. Definitely dont want any kind of major restriction right after the turbo. Sounds like it will be fine either way. I'm not too worried about it. I think I will order the cb adapter just to check it out.

Steve, I thought you were sequential? Or do you have a different cam sensor than most of us are using?
