My latest VW related acquisition is my Manta Montage. When I first got the car a few months ago it rattled and shook and you couldn't drive it much over 30 mph and keep control of it. The first thing that I did was smooth out the ride and got rid of all the rattles. You can now cruise peacefully at 70 mph.
For those who aren't familiar with this kit the back of the car tips backward which doesn't make a lot of sense for a rear engine car. Hating to do any kind of body work to hinge the back section to tip up and forward, I modified the back end to lift up 15" electrically. Taking my time I can pull the motor in about 10 minutes and easily get to the trans, rear suspension and gas tank.
The car is licensed and on the road and to the best of my knowledge is the only one in the Vacaville, CA area where I live.
I look forward to the new motor paint and nice interior.
also , your Montage looks different than mine, yours does not have the vents on the rocker panels and your door handles look to be on top of the doors, and you have vents on top of your fenders..... hmmmmm
