Blast Cabinet Build

Post by 72 1300 »

I didn't know where to put this so, here we go.

So here we go, started with a 55 gallon drum dad got from work, I know wodge still has another drum that's mine still needs collecting, will tell you what we have planned for that one later on :p :D

Image

And then we cut out at the top (We left the other holes in as these can be used for airline, vacuum setup, you will see in next pics)

Image

The holes you can see :D

Hydroponic vents for arms, I did buy some pvc gauntlets from screwfix but they are not wide enough, But have found some better ones that they have in £8 mind you !!

Thats where we are now,

Screwfix = £7.78 toggle catches and gauntlets these are going back tho.

Tool station = £18.13 light, bosch cutting blades these are going back tho wrong ones, sickaflex, round vent.

Wilkinsons = £1.16 weather strip

Weather strip is for sealing against lip of the drum and lid we are going to make from the other oil drum, The vent is so clean air can be sucked in, The vacuum (i still need to get from screwfix) will suck all the particles etc into the vacuum, The sikaflex to seal the vents to the drum, Toggle catches for lid and there you ahve it, i have bought a blast gun syphon one from ebay. But i still need to get vacuum, perspex or window, steel :D

Will jet wash the drum out (before i empty the oil into a waste container :D

Nice start. I have seen this type of build and they seem to work well. I didn't have the room for it.

This would probably be better put into the tools forum as if someone was doing a search there they may find it easier.

What is the going rate for the Pound to the US Dollar now?

Hello :D so i have an update on this build, only a small one but will get you upto speed with everything.

So let me explain everything and then some pictures of everything. So i picked up another drum of wodge.

With the other drum i can cut the door out from it, we did this so we could get a good air tight seal, This can be done differantley with a drum that has a removeable lid on it.

So i cleaned both them out and got them nice, I used traffic film (Car wash and wax basically, but this stuff is used on wagons so it has more chemicals in it, burns if you have any cuts)

So here are the latest purchases and some info on how much everything cost.

Einhell Syphon Blast Gun Ebay Buy, I picked this one so i can use 3mm tunsten carbide nozzles when i run out of the spare ones i got with it. Ebay £13.80 includes p&p

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

A3 size perspex sheet 2mm thick, so It will last awhile but we are making a window so you can remove it when it gets difficult to see.
From ebay that £4.43 including P&P

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

Do not get the 150mm hydro vent ducts that we got you will need the 100m ones as the pvc gloves will crack over time so they will need replacing and this is so it's easier to change later on.

£7.97 includes postage

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0406949420

you will need 2

And The Pictures:

Spare nozzles with allen key and rod it goes inside the gun you will see it if you take the nozzle and housing off, and you get the air feed as well but i already put it on the gun you can see this in pics below.

Pick up feed tube

Here you can see the gun with the grub screws in and the air hose feed, You also get 2metres of quality tubing as well.

Clear perspex sheet from ebay info above

Image

Drums cleaned out but this is what happens when you leave the drum open and not facing down when it was snowing :(

Image

spare drum, the top will be cut out

Also forgot to mention the blades where taken back to tool station and where an extra £1 or something i think they're £4.45 in total
