It's nice to see that Jake has began using your linkage and providing full credit. I am glad this is working out for you.

On a side note I saw no knock off linkages for sale on the Samba.

He's big into 914 racing. Also makes the best header for Upright T4 Beetles.dstar5000 wrote:I just read about a guy selling this setup on the 914club and theSamba, claiming it is his design.
Anyone ever heard of Chris Foley? Tangerine Racing?

would the wheels from any of these kits fit the shaft of a webber proggy? anyone know? I'll probably end up building my own kit around a pair of wheels if i can find someone to sell me them.
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

If my old memory is still working, the Weber progressives use the same shaft size as the IDFs.
Are you going dual progressives?(I hope...)
A cable setup will work with the std lever setup, the pulleys are nice, but not mandatory.
(They make life a little easier)

zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

The arms are indexed at diff. angles, so you might have to make adjustments.

Pete's not the greatest at returning PM's, I got tired of waiting and bought all the bits to do my own setup. I would have rather supported someone on this forum, but it is what it is.

Re: Project---Split cable pull linkage
Hello Everyone
..First of all.... my apologies for not getting back to some of you. It has truly been an uphill fight to get my shop in order and I've been using all my free time to get things going. I had purchased a cnc mill a month ago and have still have not been able to make chips. The spindle motor failed on me and with troubleshooting and phone calls to the manufacture, I've lost valuable time. I'm currently waiting on a new spindle motor
That was the mill story, now for the cnc lathe....I bought a used cnc lathe from a reputable dealer. They assured me that it was a running machine. When it was finally delivered and off loaded, I realized they didn't send me the transformer for the lathe. It's an European Emco lathe and needs a 380 volt to 220 volt step down transformer. I've been after them for the last 3 weeks for the transformer and still no luck
Not all is lost....I've been working with Jake Raby to get these things made in large quantities. We should have samples very soon.
Again, I'm truly sorry for not responding and for not being able to get this system out in a more appropriate time. But, this guy Murphy has been dogging me for some time...lol.

Pete, sorry to hear your having such bad luck with your machinery. That is not fun stuff to deal with in the least and I am sure it has been frustrating.
Good luck, and let us know when we might be able to expect the wait to end
That Murphey can be a prick sometimes...
Any chance I can get on the list for one of those samples??

Re: Project---Split cable pull linkage
I'll be honest and say, I have a bunch of money invested in this venture, but, that is not my main concern. I'm really upset that I can't help out the folks who have asked for the system. It has to be the toughest thing for me to get over. As for the samples, that would be up to Jake. I do have a few Dellorto setups left.

Dave, i do have your FRD's. I would like to hold on to them for just a little bit more. I'm just about done writing the code for them. Next stop is the cnc mill....if I ever get it running ....

I'd like to get one of these. I have heater air pipes in a doghouse cooler, IDF style. Any progression on these?
I still have a ways till I get my dual throttle body idf, megasquirt setup running.

Keep them for as long as u like. No hurry to get them back. Just checking. Just hope everything works for you so linkage for those can be produced.

Re: Project---Split cable pull linkage
just a quick thought on a motor with heater ducts. You could make it so its up and down, ie.. rotate the setup 90 degrees so the cables are running vertical next to the air cleaner.
