aw sneaks! that would be awesome! i want to make Franz off road worthy but right now i just need him to work so i dont know quite yet. keeping him stock will be easier to maintain as well as being cheaper and if i take him off roading stock bad things might happen. i hope in the future that i can make him an offroading beast and im sure youll see me up there a lot =]

yay for lots of parts! I think i will start a new thread for Franz. i did say it was a new chapter in his life so a new thread would be fitting.

well the engine appears to be toast, the oil leak may simply be a leaky pushrod tube, but it is just a symptom of somehting much worse, there is an obvious amount of gasoline and smoke coming from #3 so I am thinking a pulled head stud will be revealed when the engine is removed. sneaks you got a case? most of the guts in that thing are new, so it should be servicable. My rails SP will be donated temproarily to the cause. Also starting issues really do seem to be wire related, as thy still seem to exist.

They took him off roading in his current configuration (with bigger tires) and he did pretty well from the pics. My baja is very stock and I'm planning on taking it out there soon. I think once you get him happy in the motor department, he can take on the beaten path.

I'm going to be going through my stack o' stuff this weekend and I'll see what I have to spare. I know I have some good pushrod tubes and an oil cooler to spare, not sure what else but I'll let you know and post it in your new thread or PM you\fuser.

to be honest with you, you talking about off roading with Franz got to me. i just couldnt resist. i took Franz off roading. there is a street in my nieghborhood that seems to have been lost in time but is still considered a real road but it is all dirt an grown over. on the way to fuser's house, i took franz down this road and you are right, stock they do pretty well. i think if fuser is free one day this fall, i think you may see us all at ur door step looking to find some trails.

yeah put the big ones on the back of franz, strip the current rears down to rims cause I think those were starting to dry rot, and they will be much easier to store. Don't forget i found a set of 31 x 10.5s for cheap,just get some cash
