Could the extra spring be mounted on the opposite side of the carb????

Looking good slowtwitch! If the original lever is in place on the opposite side of the carb it seems that an extra spring could be rigged back there; just need to locate a suitable anchor point. It wouldn't be practical on a carb with a TPS like the one pictured below, but I'd expect having an extra spring on the backside of passenger side carb would suffice. Just my 2¢.

You may find a screw out the backside of the pulley to mount secondary return springs is required... The Weber return springs on the shaft are a tad wimpy by themselves.

Yes i beleve it could. It is also possiable to remove that part and replace it with a different one that might lend it self better to a return spring. Looking at the big picture to have to make some small adjustments to make this kind of linkage set up work is really so minor it is almost not worth mentioning. I will let you know what I have to do once I get the kit.

I used this kit for my split cable linkage. Btw, I have about 100 miles on the new engine with this linkage. So far, so good.

Glad to hear it , Fix. I just re-installed my setup and it still amazes me on how easy it is to adjust the carbs. were the instructions ok????

They probably would have worked better if I had printed them out and actually read them. I had to do a couple of things to the brackets but it was minor. I was never able to really adjust my carbs till now.

You now somewhat understand my loathing for Rube Goldberg style linkages. (Hexbar in particular, but it's made better than most )
When you drive 60+K/year find you simply never have to jack with it again, you will truly understand.

There is a reason car and motorcycle manufacturers have used similar cable pull setups for ~30 years.

There's no reason it should cost more if mass produced. (could be less$$$)

Of course custom setups will cost more.

I installed this with FIX on Saturday. It is a great kit and the instructions are clear. The clearance to the brackets Fix is referring to, is simply rounding the hard corners at the end of the "F" where it meets the carbs to get it to fit the countour of the carb body. Having dealt with Hex linkage for years and loving the bellcrank style, I would say this is my favorite of them all. The pedal is smooth as butter. The adjustability of the carbs has been refined to its simplest and best form, and the asthetics are second to none. I would not hesitate to buy this kit if offered for sale. It is top notch. Thanks for your dedication to this project Slowtwitch.
