While my engine was out the car sat for about 8 months and the doors were hard to open close after that. I read about the "Pin Press" tool but didn't have one and didn't want to spend the time making one so I opened the doors as far as possible and then from the inside I drilled three 1/8th inch holes in the center tang of the each hinge (That tang rotates on the hinge pin on my '67) and applied PB Blaster. Within minutes the hinges operated like new. I had previously just sprayed PB Blaster to the hinges to no avail.
I will apply PB Blaster for a couple more days and then seal the drilled holes with silicone to keep the water out.

Re: Rusty/Frozen door hinges
That's a neat trick, worth considering.
I purchased "The Hinge Pin Tool", from the Samba classifieds and am really glad that I did. My lower pins were severely frozen in place and nothing else was working.

Not cheap, but I am glad to add this to my inventory of shop tools that I won't have to use very often.
