Hi, I have read that the oil pressure gauge should be connected to the port between the push rod tubes on the 2.1 wbx. My question is if there is a difference between that port and the one at the oil filter in regards to pressure. Tried to find an oil system diagram but no luck.
The engine is in a beetle / aircooled now and not using the pressure warning system of the vanagons. I am using electric pressure and warning light sender.
Thanks

Re: Oil pressure gauge connection
I've used both locations over the years for an oil pressure sender and have not noticed any major difference in readings.
Both senders have the same size fittings (Surface area) so the pressure readings should be close even with some temperature variation.
That said most electric oil pressure setups tend to be fairly inaccurate.
Currently i'm using the oil filter port to simplify the sender fitment.

Re: Oil pressure gauge connection
Hi thanks I thought it would be close. I ended up moving my gauge to the port between the push rods but extended it with a oil line to have it above the engine. Reading is close but the sender is much safer and cooler up there.
