Busk's baja

Post by Busk »

well i thought i would finally get around to starting a build thread on my car now that is done (for now), i think i have said that a couple times haha. i bought it about 3 years ago as pretty simple 68 baja with a scary roll cage and some pretty sketchy work all around. so i tore it all the way down to the body and pan, built a cage, 3x3s, 6 over beam, and coilovers all the way around. it had a 002 trans and a 1914 and they car worked really good. last summer i tore it down again, cut the frame horns off, did microstub 3x5s, a weddle hv-1 trans and a 2.4 ecotec. everything worked awesome and while i was racing in january this year i broke a king pin, lower arm and wrapped a tie rod around the shock... so i upgraded all the front suspention parts and added a bypass shock. and thats how it sits now

how i bought it

and how it sits today

what shop do you work at?

i see most everyone flips the eagle torsion eliminator plates, when i got mine i ended up doing the same as you did. maybe somebody ought to tell them! i vote for you as having the baddest baja on STF.

He works at Buckshot Racing. I met his boss a few months back. Really cool guy with some AMAZING toys... 8)

Damn nice job, too Busk. I love your car. I want to convert a few things over to how have it, but still feeding two teenagers (one in college).

you mean this crazy contraption :? it was a 2x4 peice of box tubing welded to the front of the frame head... and no you are not missing anything, that is the only place the beam is mounted to the car

i work at Buckshot Racing. ya when i first put the 3x3s on with the eagle kit it worked best when i swaped them side to side and i have hearn this from other people as well. when i put the 3x5s and new pivots i ended up cutting up the eagel plates up, modifing them a little and gussuting them. thanks for the compliment

Hey, that beam above is also held on by the wiring, not just those nasty welds.

After seeing this Baja in person I knew you guys would like it. It is a runner for sure, not one hiccup and so smooth. Jason thanks for posting the pics and letting us in on this one.
