Hello Nick! sorry I did not get to this earlier.

There is no produced air filter for the 1974 412 any longer. There "may" be one available for the square filter that was used with L-jet and the 1.8L in 1974 model year....but the round air filter that was in the plastic round housing that was used for the very last of D-jet in late 1973, very early 1974....has pretty much been NLA since about 2000. I can post some part numbers later. I was getting them in Kneckt, Deutsch and Bosch right up until about 2001 and they were hard to find and NOS at that point in time.

For the square L-jet filter you can still get the Mann C2290 at NAPA or the Beck Arnley 0421351 here in the US.

I found a similar issue. Nobody had anything. Most places had no clue what car I was even talking about. :)

I had to go to a Porsche specialist. I bought the round filter listed by Auto Atlanta here:
http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-part ... ion=116-05

I don't have the invoice on hand to check the part number, but the round one I bought from them fit perfectly into my north american market '73 412 with stock EFI on the EA code 1.7l engine.

Hi Nick

I just had the same dilemma. I found two for sale so bought them both while I could. One on German EBay and the other Italian.

The part number you need is in the picture.

Wow! thanks Danno5 and Stevosquare!

Sorry it took me time to get back to this. Off continent for a week

Its nice to know AA has them. I will be sure to patronize them so they keep them in stock.
For those always looking to buy NOS or find deals...from my little black book here is the range of original part numbers from the usual suspects.

Bosch: Old #: 73349 New #: AF232
Purolator: AF17
Fram: CA2675
K&N: E-3380 (this will fit with small mods)

For the record....the fram and a few others had a sealing ring that was always a little too thick and stiff. It made it to where you had to really cinch down the top and wing nut bolt. It actually cracked a housing once.

Also....here is the original thread on this hard to find filter.
