Hello all,
I just bought me a 74 super beetle and I’m new to the VW game. It’s been running strong for the last month. Today after filling up at the gas station it started to stall and wouldn’t start back up again.
(I live in Arizona and it got into the upper 90s)
A friend of mine suggested possible “vapor lock”
Another said improper air flow and to get deck lid spacers.
Again I love in AZ and it only going to get hotter lol
Any suggestions will be helpful.... AND again I’m new to VWs so please don’t rip me apart for not knowing simple things.

We don't do that here.
I have heard on the news that the southwest is getting into some early mighty hot weather. Will the engine start (after some cooling off) with the rear bonnet/hood open ?

Yea we should be in the 100s soon. And Yes it cooled down and started fine. I’ve been looking online and vapor lock seems to be a good possibility. I need to check tomorrow how my fuel lines are ran and possibly relocate them. Will post update tomorrow.
