My cars are a daily, Mk3 golf tdi and my baby that just see's shows, meets and weekend thrashings a Mk2 scirocco scala 1.8 8v (EX engine).
The golf started out as my project car, it's been stripped out and fully dynamatted and the interior returned with the fronts replaced by Mk3 golf gti ones. Although i have Mk4 golf recaro seats waiting to go in. ICE is taken care of by an Alpine 7998 headunit supplying a four channel amp (4x100 RMS), which powers homemade speaker pods in the front doors, which house Audiobahn 6" and 4" mids with tweeters near the factory locations to aid stageing. The only mods to the engine are a K&N panel filter and a small tuning box (resister type). Cat back 2.5" stainless steel exhaust (jetex) and lowered 40mm on Weitec shocks and springs. It's a ratt look ride, scouring pads used to scuff off the laquer top coat. Wheels, wing mirror cappings and grills are painted oxide red and there are stripes made from yellow and black hazard warning tape (which get some weird looks and I love it

Upgrades to come are a PD130 turbo, bigger injectors, re-map and turbo back exhaust.
Scirocco is standard apart from lowered 60mm and pierburg carb changed for a 32/34 webber.
Plans for Rocco are to supercharge it with a mini couper charger, couple this with an SU carb and double stacked head gaskets to reduce compression ratio.
A few questions I have are
1. If I double stack the head gaskets (head gasket, metal shim, head gasket = an extra 6mm to reduce compression to 8:1) will the standard heads bolts be long enough.
2. Does anyone know what cambelt will fit after raising the head an extra 6mm
