welder

I've searched for this topic and only pulled up a few things.

My question: What's the best welder for welding on a VW?
I've only welded on boat trailers and other thick metals. We used a mig that was 100% duty cycle. I've never used any other welder (as far as duty cycle). If I decided to replace heater channels will I find myself waiting for the welder to cool(20% duty cycle)?

I am using a Hobart 135, doing the exact work you are describing, heater channels, replacement panels. Works very well, no isue with overheating. I like it because of the lower settings which works well on old metal.

Thats what I use with gas. Works fine
